Multi-storey buildings: floor and roof systems, columns, bracing systems, structural detailing. Single-storey structures: cladding, purlins, trusses, frames, crane girders, columns, column bases, anchoring, bracing systems. Structural analysis, load, design codes, structural stability. Large span, tall and industrial buildings. Fire resistance.

To teach basic principles of design of steel multi-storey and single-storey buildings, loads and element interaction. To apply the knowledge of design of steel elements to basic structural elements of these buildings.
