- Grading of the course requires grading of the following courses:
- Mathematics 2 (101MAT2)
Structural Mechanics 2 (132SM2E) - Lecturer:
- Petr Procházka (gar.)
- Tutor:
- Petr Procházka (gar.), Alexandr Kravtsov, Zahra Sharif Khodaei
- Supervisor:
- Department of Mechanics
- Synopsis:
-
Theory of elasticity starts with results
from courses of Structural Mechanics and introduces an
equivalent to generalized internal forces - stresses, which are
valid in entire cross-section. Basic assumptions on bending and
torsion are discussed. Essential problems of beams are solved:
displacements, strains, stresses, elastic and ideally elastic-
plastic solution, elastic curve, stability of beams.
- Requirements:
-
101MAT2, 132SM2E
- Syllabus of lectures:
- Syllabus of tutorials:
- Study Objective:
-
Students will be able to solve normal and shear stresses and strains in beams at bending and torsion, critical load and effective lenght of columns. They will know the main features of stress distribution in walls and plates.
