Synopsis:

The aim of the lectures is to give a summary overview of telecommunications networks with emphasis to grade of service parameters and dimensioning of transmission paths. The aim is focused on description and architecture of networks, routing strategy, overload protection, dimensioning networks with overflow, management of networks, quality and grade of service: telematic services, data, computer, radiotelephone and ISDN networks.

2. TN Topology - description (graphs, matrices)

3. Traffic, Busy Hour, routing strategies

4. Prediction paramerers development. Principles of dimensioning TN

5. Traffic control, overloading protection of TN

6. Optimization of topology TN

7. TMN network- architectures, interfaces, function

8. Quality of service and Grade of service TN

9. Grade of service parameters

10. Telecommunicatin services (TELETEX, TELEFAX, VIDEOTEX, TELETEXT, ...)

11. Netwok performance and QOS of data networks

12. Computer networks (LAN, MAN, WAN).Architectures, networking, traffic

13. Radiotelephone networks, paging

14. Grade of services in integrated services digital network

1. Access network of a telephone exchange.

2. Dimensioning Service System M/M/N/0. Project.

3. Dimensioning Service System M/M/N/infinity (R).

4. Dimensioning telecommunications network with overflow.

5. Dimensioning telecommunications network with overfow. Project.

6. Dimensioning telecommunications network with overfow. Project.

7. Submission of the project. Assessment.
