Synopsis:

An automation of production, quality control or research and development are based on the use of data acquisition systems. Different types of standardised systems, their parameters, programming, and applications are described here. Laboratories are pointing to the programming of frequently used systems using different developing tools.

Requirements:

Knowledge of C language

1. DAQ systems - overview

2. IEEE 488 Interface - blocks of data and their transfer, serial and parallel poll

3. Standard IEEE 488.2

4. SCPI - Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments; VXI plug&play, VISA

5. Modular systems using measuring modules with standard interfaces - structure and parameters

6. Measuring of dynamic signals using measuring modules - problems and

limitations

7. Disturbing influence, accessories and signal conditioning modules, used

standard interfaces - overview

8. Programming PC plug-in boards

9. Operating systems used in DAQ systems

10. Software packages for DAQ systems programming

11. Graphical development tools for DAQ systems

12. Industrial modular systems VME, VXI, CompactPCI, PXI

13. Industrial distributed systems - Fieldbuses

14. Comparison of single types of DAQ systems, principle of their integration, practical aspect of design

1. Basic information concerning development systems (LabWindows, LabVIEW) under WindowsXP and Linux, IEEE-488 interface and used instruments

2. Task 1: Programming of instruments control and single data (string) transfer using IEEE 488 bus

3. Task 1: Programming of instruments control and single data (string) transfer using IEEE 488 bus

4. Task 1: Status report using IEEE 488 bus

5. Task 1: Blocks of data transfer using IEEE 488 bus
