The course is suitable for intermediate students who have attended the course 04J1N1 or who have proved a corresponding knowledgein placement tests. Course objective: Basic communication and an introduction to specialised German.

Course objective: Basic communication and an introduction to specialised German. Topics and situations: Germany and German speaking countries, Prague and the Czech Republic, university studies, staying abroad, transport, cultural life. Technical texts and terminology: Handling technical texts, Telefax, Electrosmog. Grammar: Passive voice, subjunctive 1, expressing the conditional, past perfect, coordinate adjectives, more uses of present and past participles, subordinate clauses, phrases with „ zu, um zu, ohne zu, statt zu“.
