The course is suitable for intermediate students who have an equivalent command of the language as someone who has completed book one of a language school text book. Course objective: Basic communication and an introduction to specialised German.

Course objective: Basic communication and an introduction to specialised German. Topics and situations: Sport, Germany and German speaking countries, Prague and the Czech Republic, university studies, transport, travelling, cultural life. Technical texts and terminology: Handling technical texts, protection of the environment, mathematical expressions. Grammar: Passive voice, subjunctive 1, expressing the conditional, past perfect, coordinate adjectives, more uses of present and past participles, relative clauses, phrases with „ zu, um zu, ohne zu, statt zu“.
