Synopsis:

Methods for nondestructive testing and electrical diagnostics, advanced signal processing methods (envelope, cepstral and order analysis), application of fuzzy logic, neural networks, vibrodiagnostics, defectoscopy, in-circuit testing for analog and digital circuits. Implementation of diagnostic systems in computer aided labs.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Basic terms, diagnostic systems, quantities and models

2. Measuring systems for vibrodiagnostics, sensors and interfaces

3. Sources of vibration, shaft, bearing and gear-box diagnostics

4. Signal preprocessing and analysis methods, filtering

5. Frequency and time domain analysis of vibrodiagnostic signals, time-frequency analysis

6. Diagnostics based on evaluation of impulse and continuous acoustic emission

7. Ultrasonic testing of material, methods, probes, evaluation

8. Electromagnetic, magnetic and eddy current methods for nondestructive testing

9. Optoelectronic diagnostic systems: holographic methods, radiography, endoscopy, thermovision

10. Diagnostic methods based on acoustic analysis, sound intensity

11. Introduction to diagnostics of electronic circuits, models of faults

12. In-circuit testers for printed-circuits boards

13. Analog and digital signature analysis of electronic circuits

14. Application of neural networks, fuzzy logic and expert systems in diagnostics
