Anotace:

Module 1. Thermodynamics of biological processes and systems.

Thermodynamics of biological processes.

Sources and circulation of energy in biological systems.

Thermoregulation and its control systems.

Registration and maintenance of the characteristics of the gas transport function of the blood.

Registration and support of external breathing characteristics.

Water-electrolyte balance of the organism.

Module 2. Biomodynamics and mass transfer in biomedical engineering.

Definition and subject of study of physiotherapy.

Physical properties of body tissues.

Basic biophysical processes, modulated by therapeutic physical factors.

Application of optical radiation (phototherapy)

An analysis of the heart function in a defect of the interventricular septum and an assessment of the left ventricle in the „pressure-volume“ curve.

Biophysical processes, modulated by therapeutic physical factors.

Požadavky:

The subjects are concluded by an oral examination. The student must elaborate a paper on a given topic together with the exam in case of the controlled self-study. Assessment will be based on active participation in the discussion exercises, reports of group work and presentation of the research protocol conducted during the workshop.

The study is performed in the form of controlled self-study with regular consultations and obligatory participation in laboratory exercises.
