Synopsis:

The addition of the Intership course to the curriculum is based on the decision of the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies CTU in Prague (MIAS CTU) to provide students with the opportunity to gain quality skills and experience during their studies.

MIAS CTU supports the establishment of a relationship between students and companies and emphasizes their mutual cooperation. This monitored internship is therefore part of the curriculum.

Requirements:

Internship Approval Guidelines MIAS (CTU)

Basic Conditions:

1. Eligibility within the curriculum: The internship must relate to the academic field and be eligible as Curricular.

2. Faculty approval: MIAS must pre-approve the activities, duration, and objectives.

3. Internship agreement: The internship cannot start before signing a trilateral agreement between the company, the student, and MIAS CTU (in case of the internship in one of the MIAS CTU's partner companies) or

before Approved Application for Approval of the Company (the student submits his/her own proposal for the company where the internship will take place).

Step-by-step Procedure:

1. Find the internship independently: Contact a company and obtain preliminary confirmation with details.

2. Contact the Internship Coordinator/Leader at MIAS: Email libor.cupal@cvut.cz with company details, dates, and task description.

3. Create the request in the Moodle system (an open-ended course with the possibility of student registration for several semesters, i.e. it is not tied to the student's course registration in a semester):

Ask the Coordinator/Leader for a link to this course > Log into CTU Moodle > 32BE-P-INT3-01 Internship > Register a student-proposed internship.

4. Agreement preparation:

The internship can take place either in the company proposed by the student or in our partner companies.

In case the internship will take place in our partner companies (in the Czech Republic, with a cooperation agreement with MIAS), then MIAS prepares a trilateral Agreement on Securing Professional Internship which must be signed at least 10 working days before the start date.

In the case of the student's own proposal of the company where the internship will be implemented, it is necessary to submit an Application for Company Approval (see procedures).

5. Start the Internship: Begin only after approval.

6. Completion and evaluation: Submit a Final Report (prepared by the student) and receive a Company Evaluation (prepared by the company tutor) for final academic validation.

Important note:

If the mandatory 480 hours internship load is composed of two or more parts, each part must be administratively supported by separate documents

(Application for Approval of the Company, Final Report (prepared by the student), Company Evaluation (prepared by the company tutor, submitted with signature and stamp by the company representative).

Syllabus of lectures:
Syllabus of tutorials:

The workload will be determined individually according to company requirements.

Study Objective:

The main goal: connecting theory with practice.

The aim of the course is to enable students to gain skills and experience directly in partner companies and also to enable them to verify the knowledge and skills acquired in previous studies.

This course is not intended for Erasmus students or students of other faculties of CTU in Prague.

Study materials:

According to company requirements.

Note:

Important Rules:

- No retroactive internships: start only after agreement is signed.

- Tasks must be academically relevant.

- MIAS CTU has concluded a valid insurance policy in which the agreed scope of general liability insurance also covers (limited) liability for damage or injury caused by the student at the Internship

(but only in the Czech Republic and only for Internships in one of the MIAS CTU's partner companies and with a previously concluded trilateral Agreement on securing (curricular) professional Internship).
