Synopsis:

The course provides an introduction to standards for specifying business processes and software application requirements using BPMN and UML standards. It covers fundamental terms, information systems architecture, basic types of software applications for information system of enterprise, information system lifecycle, approaches to information system development, methods of process modeling using BPMN, and modeling of functional requirements for software applications using UML.

1. Explanation of keywords

2. Fundamentals of business process modeling using BPMN

3. Modeling control mechanisms using the BPMN standard

4. Modeling business processes using the activity diagram (UML standard)

5. Specification of functional requirements for software applications using a use case diagram (UML standard)

6. Modeling functional requirements for software applications using activity diagrams (UML standard)

7. Information systems lifecycle, approaches to information system development

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Basic information about the organization and organizational structure

2. Modeling communication with the organization's environment, process hierarchy

3. - 4. Description of processes using the BPMN standard

5. - 6. Specification of functional requirements for the software application

7. Completion of tasks, awarding of assessments.

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to teach students how to create simple process models using the BPMN standard and to specify functional requirements for information systems using UML. It also provides students with an overview of the principles of creating information systems in a company and an introductory overview of the types of information systems.
