2.Formal letters, positive and negative connotations, language for complaining, phrasal verbs.

3.Writing report, an abstract, a summary. Relative clauses, cause and effect.

4.Academic texts, word formation, participle clauses, metaphors and idioms, complex sentences, formal and informal language.

5.Lectures, the Passive, articles and determiners.

6.Expressing opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, the infinitive, adverbials expressing opinions.

7.Proposals, language of persuasion, multiple meanings, collocations

8.Verbs followed by –ing, to infinitives. Description of a picture. Telling a story.

9.Competition entries, hypothesising, idioms. Debates, gerunds and infinitives, collocations.

10.Interpreting facts and figures, linking device, collocations.

11.Instructions. Modals: may, might, can and could, prefixes and suffixes.

12.Describing objects, modals: must, should, ought to, shall, will, would. Positive and negative adjectives.
