Synopsis:

The course is focused on the fundaments of the flight dynamics, i.e. stability and controllability. It is focused on the principal phenomena of the flight dynamics. The approach is based on simplified linearized relations that enable division of complex problems into more easily handled subproblems. Mathematic relations are interconnected with explanations of physical reasoning.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

Coordinate systems.

Equations of motion for flight dynamics

Modifications of equations of motion.

Equations of motion for longitudinal movement.

Equations of motion for lateral-directional movement.

Longitudinal aerodynamic derivatives, longitudinal aerodynamic characteristics.

Lateral-directional aerodynamic derivatives, lateral-directional aerodynamic characteristics.

Longitudinal stability, longitudinal controllability.

Lateral-directional stability, lateral-directional controllability.

Augmentation of stability and controllability, active control.
