Synopsis:

The subject is specialized in problems of work with applications of geographic information systems with special attention to the specialization in the field of transport and telecommunication. It introduces students to geographic data management practices and tools, real world modeling, geographic data storage models, data entry and digitization methods, and a number of other GIS related technologies such as problem mapping, webmap, etc.

Requirements:

Zápočet: Get min. 25 points from the work in the semester (points can be obtained for the semester work, work in exercises, elaboration of a professional text)

Zkouška: Get min. 51 points from the work in the semester (points can be obtained for the semester work, work in exercises, elaboration of a professional text, final test, demonstration with GIS)

Study Objective:

To acquaint students with the basics of spatial information management in information systems, to introduce ways of creating a geographical information base, design philosophy and spatial data processing methods. The aim is to familiarize students with the principles of localization and navigation systems. The subject is focused on transport etc.
