Synopsis:

Subject consists of practical exercises. They should learn students to operate nuclear instrumentation common in praxis, and also to do measurements, which may be part of their future jobs.

Requirements:

Required prerequisities are 16ZPRA, 16DETE.

1. Film dosimetry

2. High resolution spectrometry of gamma rays

3. Detector spectrometric detection effieciency measurement

4. X-ray tube filtration measurement

5. Radionuclide X-ray fluorescent analysis

6. Gel dosimetry

7. Properties of photon beam (microtron)

8. Dose measurement in HE photon and electron beams in water (microtron)

9. Radon volume activity growth curve analysis measured by RADIM-3 detector

10. Alpha spectroscopy using YAG:Ce scintillator

11. Dose profiles analysis of therapeutic 137Cs irradiator

Study Objective:

Knowledge:

Practical knowledge of nuclear equipment, instrumentation and detection systems used for routine calibration and measurement.

Abilities:

Individual work with a variety of nuclear instrumentation devices, processing, presentation and interpretation of measured data.
