Synopsis:

The course of the Experimental Biomechanics presents a summary of up-to-date experimental techniques, explains their principles, and also gives an opportunity to participate in laboratory experiment.

Mathematical description of motion and its manifestation

Principles of measurement of point position

Principles of deformation measurement

Optical and image-based methods for displacement and velocity field measurement

Ultrasonic methods

Measurement of force interaction (force transducers, pressure transducers, manometers)

Measurement of residual strain

Concepts of tensile tests

Inflation-extension tests (tubes, membranes)

In vivo measurement

Statistical concepts

Inferential statistics and hypothesis testing
