- Synopsis:
-
Extending the knowledge with respect to more detailed understanding of relevant transport processes in heat transfer and its usage in the design of apparatuses and experimental or theoretical investigation of complex cases.
- Requirements:
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
•Basic mechanisms of heat transfer: conduction, forced and natural convection, radiation.
•Similarity analysis of heat transport equations. Correlations describing heat transport.
•Experimental methods using in description of heat transfer (direct, indirect).
•Numerical modeling of heat transfer, influence of turbulent flow.
•Basic cases of heat transfer – flow in pipe of circular cross section, impinging jets.
•Impact of developing velocity and thermal profiles, different boundary conditions, wall roughness.
•Non-circular cross sections, secondary flows, anisotropic heat transport in turbulent flows.
•External flows, development of thermal boundary layer, analogy with momentum transport.
•Heat exchangers. Flow around tube bundles, mean temperature difference, intensification of heat transfer, fouling.
•Heat transfer at phase changes, condensation, evaporation, drying.
•Combustion – kinetics, reaction, radiation, CFD.
•Optimization of apparatuses and systems.
