Synopsis:

Master basic principles of nuclear safety.

Understand the basics and application of all the necessary disciplines.

Basic principles of nuclear safety.

In-depth protection for existing and perspective reactors and its individual levels.

Inherent, passive and active safety systems.

Reactivity transients (reactivity insertion mechanism, normal and prompt performance excursion, Chernobyl).

Cooling failure.

Loss of Cooling Accident - LOCA.

Fuel behavior in accidents, mechanism of damage after melting.

Processes in the containment including relevant physical and technical processes, source term.

Propagation of radioactivity inside the reactor and in the environment.

Radiological consequences.

Application of current computing tools for security analysis.
