The course focuses on the examination of the visual functions of the eye. It explains the importance of individual examinations and their physiological nature. It also explains their changes in various ocular abnormalities.
Great emphasis is placed on the practical mastery and understanding of each examination.

- Binocular function: foria, heterophoria, heterotropia, diplopia and their examination, Schober test, Worth's lights, Bruckner test, cover test, Hering-Bielsch test
- Pupillary functions and their examination
- Dominance of the eye: directional and sensory and their examination
- Colorvocity and its examination, colorvocity disorders
- Visual field: examination and disorders, Amsler grid
- Contrast sensitivity and its disorders
- Critical confluence frequency and its examination and macular glare test
- Adaptation of the eye: to light, darkness and methods of examination
- Electrophysiological functions of vision: EOG, ERG, PERG, PVEP, MFERG, MFVEP
