Synopsis:

Applications of ionizing radiation 1 inclusive of radioanalytical methods and application of radionuclides and ionizing radiation for analysis and diagnostics of industrial and research processes.

Requirements:

Knowledge in interaction of ionising radiation with matter and detection of ionising radiation.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. X-ray physics

2. Wavelength and energy -dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis

3. Spectrum evaluation

4. Quantification in XRFA, matrix effects

5. Total reflection X-ray Fluorescence

6. Microbeam XRFA

7. Electron induced X-ray emission

8. Nuclear techniques in coal and mineral resources industry

9. Analysis and diagnostics of nuclear processes

10. Determination of volumetric flow rate

11. Defectoscopy

12. Safety regulations and radiation protection
