Synopsis:

The subject develops the discussion in the form of case studies of public space,

it deals with a successful integration of historical and contemporary works of art in architecture.

Requirements:

participation in the discussion

elaboration of the semester topic, its presentation

The exam takes place orally. Part of the exam is a consultation of a case study developed by the student.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. the origin and development of monument care from ancient times to the present, introductory overview

2. Politics and presentation of the past: Germany, the United States, Great Britain,

3. Politics and presentation of the past: France, Italy, Spain

4. Non-European cultures

5. Theory of cultural appropriation, criticism of monument care from a social point of view

6. Case studies I

7. Case studies II

8. Case studies III

9. Case studies IV

10. Fragment of a work of art and architecture

11. Architect as a visual artist.

12. Fine artist by architect -

13. Summary of reports and preparation for the exam

Home preparation, analysis of architectural ensembles containing works of art, discussion of assigned topics
