Synopsis:

The aim of the seminar is that students get familiar with basics skills to present the own scientific results. Students get also knowledge from the fields of particle physics studied in research tasks and diploma theses of their colleagues. Participants will be informed about recent results in particle physics.

Syllabus of lectures:

Participants of the seminar will at least once per the semester present results from research task. The seminar will host nuclear and particle physics scientists from research groups on the Department of Physics and from institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences. These researchers will give a professional feedback to students presentations and they will judge the presenting abilities and the scientific level of students work and so it will enhance the quality of scientific work of students on research project. During seminar also guest presentation will be given, mainly by scientists from Czech Academy of Sciences and from cooperating foreign universities. Topics discussed at the seminar will cover mainly:

Nuclear physics

Physics of nuclear collisions

Elementary particle physics

Astroparticle physics

Accelerator physics

Modern methods of data analysis

Phenomenological models of elementary particle physics
