Neurology is a medical branch, which is studying disorders of central, peripheral and autonomic nervous system.
As knowledge in neurology is essential to each student of physiotherapy, both theoretical presentations, hands-on workshops and hospital praxis would be oriented on causes, symptoms, diagnostics, therapy and prevention in various neurological disorders. Some sessions would be oriented on imaging methods in neurology, others will let the students uncover neurodegeneration or rare diseases and physiotherapy aspekt of thein treatment.

Oral examination.
- Syllabus of lectures:

1st week: Principles of neurological examination
2nd week: Back pain, traumatic lesions of CNS including spine and brain injuries
3rd week: Peripheral nerves and their disorders
4th week: Inflammatory diseases of CNS, including multiple sclerosis
5th week: Diseases of spinal cord. Epilepsy
6th week: Stroke
7th week: Physiotherapy in patients with plexus, nerve lesions and myopathy
8th week: Cerebellar disorders
9th week: Parkinsons disease, chorea and other diseases of basal ganglia
10th week: Principles of physiotherapy in demyelinating disease of CNS (MS) and in back pain

Practical sessions would be oriented on neurological examination, differential diagnostics and complementary methods including neuroimaging. The topic of practical sessions will be complementary to the subjects of presentations.
