- Synopsis:
-
The subject provides a review of physical phenomena which are fundamental for understanding of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) basic principles, construction and feasibilities of EPR and NMR spectrometers. Electron and nuclear spins properties in the so-called diluted magnetics are especially elucidated. EPR and NMR spectra analysis and interpretation with consequent defect or activator charge state, localization and surrounding in a lattice determination are given in great detail. The EPR and NMR spectroscopies correlation with optical methods such as thermally stimulated luminescence, radio(photo)luminescence, Raman spectroscopy etc. are discussed.
