- Synopsis:
-
Procedures in the field of physicochemical processes at the level of cells, tissues, resp. tissues, organs and organ systems as well as whole organisms. Physicochemical resistance of cells, tissues and other components of the body. The body's response to functional changes in transport. Functional methods of process detection and their use in clinical practice.
- Requirements:
-
As a standard, teaching takes place in contact form and the course ends with an oral exam, which is preceded by written preparation. If the number of students is less than 5, teaching can take place in the form of guided self-study with regular consultations. Furthermore, it is required to prepare a written study by the student on a given topic in the field. The condition for admission to the exam is the completion of two laboratory exercises (evidenced by a protocol signed by the student, the head of the exercise and the guarantor of the course). Protocols will be archived.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
Syllabus of lectures:
1. Animal cell, intra and extracellular conditions, cell metabolism, cell division
2. Cellular apoptosis and necrosis, induction of apoptosis and signaling within tissues
3. Ion balance, transport channels, impedance properties of cells and tissues, voltage-clamp, patch-clamp methods
4. Transport and exchange of substances and gases in the organism
5. Tumor cells and functional changes of tissue
6. Extracellular matter, building proteins of tissues and organs
7. Tissue function groups and their morphology
8. Immunofluorescence and immunohistological labeling of proteins and use in clinical practice
9. Analytical methods of ELISA, PCR - their use in laboratory and clinical practice
10. Analytical methods SDS-PAGE, Western-Blot - their use in laboratory and clinical practice
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
Syllabus of exercises (block form of teaching after 4 teaching hours):
1. Blood hemolysis, erythrocyte osmotic resistance and determination of osmolarity, cell viability, induction of apoptosis in cell culture
2. Impedance properties of tissue and cell culture, voltage clamp and electrophysiological properties of tissue, membrane transport of substances, transport channels.
