Synopsis:

The course complements, deepens and develops the knowledge of working in ArchiCAD acquired in the basic course (129YACD1).

The course focuses mainly on methods and tools for creating custom library elements, including the use of GDL, as well as details of the creation and features of selected ArchiCAD components.

Requirements:

Compulsory and active participation in class, maximum 3 excused absences.

Handing in the semester work on time.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Repeat knowledge of creating user wall profiles, operations with solids and a simple library element

2. Creating custom parametric components, custom windows and doors, introduction to GDL

3. Parameterizing an element, library element user interface, using loops in GDL

4. Parameter stack, CSG (Computer Solid Geometry) example, ArchiCAD resources

5. Example of CSG using GDL, Boolean operations in GDL

6. Shape complex elements in GDL

7. Combination of library element creation procedures - ArchiCAD and GDL

8. Preparation of modelling documents, correction of perspective distortion, insertion into ArchiCAD

9. Use of shells and morphs

10. Rendering and materials

11. Publishing project documentation

Study Objective:

Student - prospective architect or civil engineer can use ArchiCAD effectively for design purposes, with required outputs (documentation for building permit issue etc.).
