Synopsis:

In the course, students are introduced to the relational model, session normalization, integrity constraints, logical and physical database schema, conceptual schema, as well as database model design methodology, E-R diagrams and data flow diagrams.

First introduction to SQL

JOIN conditions and clauses

ANSI JOIN, repetition and examples

Aggregation functions, merging gifts and sorting

Subqueries and derived tables

Recursive queries

Creating and editing tables

Database design, ER modeling, normalization

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to introduce students to database systems based on the relational database model and the Structured Query Language (SQL). Database design and work with databases are practically demonstrated using the PostgreSQL relational database.
