Synopsis:

The subject aims at the principles of optical devices and their functional parts. Simple optical tasks lead to an understanding of the principles of optical measurement.

Requirements:

Credit: - Active participation in all exercises.

- Submitted and accepted technical reports for all tasks.

Examination: Written and oral.

Syllabus of lectures:

Division and classification of geodetic instruments

Introduction to Geometrical Optics. Plane mirrors. Tilt of the mirror.

Spherical mirrors, refracting prisms, reflecting prisms, plane-parallel plate.

Thin and thick lens.

Eye, defects of the eye. Defects in optical systems

Components of geodetic instruments - levels, optical centering device. Eyepieces, lenses

Microscopes, measuring microscopes

Telescopes of geodetic instruments, astronomical telescopes.

Properties of geodetic instrument telescopes. Collimator, autocollimator.

Additional devices of telescopes of optical instruments.

Optical range finders - dual image

Optical rangefinders - thread, diagram

Compensators of the levels and optical theodolites.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Determination of refracting angles of a triangular prism

Determination of the thickness of the lens and the radius of its cut

Determining the focal length of a lens

Determination of transmission coefficients of a neutral optical filter

Determination of optical theodolite telescope parameters

Test and rectification of the box level and optical centering

Study Objective:
