Synopsis:

Two parallel blocks of instruction - Land consolidation and basics of geomatics (GIS applied for KPÚ).

Basics of land consolidation - history, course and phases of the KPÚ process, principles of designing common facilities, legislation.

Introduction to GIS and main components of common systems. Data structure and basics of image information processing from geographically localized data. Basics of databases and work with vector and raster formats of geographic data. GIS in engineering practice and landscape engineering. Preparation of a digital terrain model, land use maps and other inputs and available databases in the Czech Republic. Processing of remote sensing data.

Requirements:

semestral tests, elaboration of a student project and oral examination of lectured topics

Syllabus of lectures:

Introduction to the course, examples of GIS projects for landscape design, overview of software and basic geodata.

History of landscape development and agriculture in the Czech Republic, development of cadastre and mapping of the territory of the Czech Republic, processing of raster and vector geodata.

Development of landscape mosaics and monitoring of the development of the territory from remote sensing data, georeferencing of geodata, cadastral maps.

Source layers for the assessment of erosion and flood protection (altimetry, planimetry, land use, soils, precipitation).

Introduction, legislation, definition, purpose and objective, participants, contracting authority, processor, financing, reasons, forms of AO.

Common facilities overview, dirt roads.

Water erosion and wind erosion - methodologies for determination and assessment of endangerment.

Erosion factors and their derivation according to valid methodologies of the Czech Republic, calculation and processing of data in GIS.

Subject and perimeter of AO, solved unsolved areas, stages of AO, Program stage (opening, DOSS, selection of processor).

Proposal of new arrangement of land (documents, design procedure, tolerances), geodetic activities after approval of the proposal, termination of the AO, renewal of the cadastral register, implementation.

Dimensioning of erosion and flood protection.

Particulars for the documentation of the plan of common facilities.

Possibilities of creation and protection of landscape in AO and others, ÚSES, link to Z 114/1992Sb., examples of realizations.

Study Objective:

Understand the basic principles of GIS, project building, input data preparation and output creation.

Understand the principles of designing a plan of common facilities within a system of complex land adjustments.
