Management is a key discipline in the life of a company, institution, and society. Modern management trends fundamentally change its essence and content, methods and tools, while changes are getting faster. Knowing the basics of management is a necessity not only for managers, practically for all employees who hold key positions in the company or institution. However, it is not just a question of taking a basic course, managers must be prepared for lifelong learning and adaptation to new trends, knowledge, methods and tools.
The course deals with the basics of management in the context of its modern trends and is therefore the starting point for further study of managerial and economic fields at the university.

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles of management in the context of contemporary needs and trends of the 21st century.
The purpose of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of the discipline and prepare them for their career of managers in companies and institutions, and / or continued study in subsequent years of bachelor's and master's studies.
The purpose is, among other, to acquaint the students with:
•subject and overall structure of the theory and practice of management,
•basic terms and concepts of management,
•content, techniques and tools of key management functions,
•wide range of specific functions, and sub-disciplines of management,
•current trends in corporate management and its prospects for the future.
The expected outcome of the course is that students will:
•understand overall thematic structure and issues of modern corporate management,
•explain the content and scope of the basic tools of key management functions, and apply its in the practical exercises,
•explain the nature of specific management functions, and sub-disciplines of management, and apply its in the practical exercises,
•explain the essence of key management trends, and their influence on future theory and especially the practice of corporate management.
