X-ray properties. Principle of interaction of soft X-rays with matter. Absorption and scattering of extreme ultraviolet (EUV). Absorption and scattering of SXR. Wave propagation and refractive index in EUV and SXR. Coherence in EUV and SXR. Synchrotron radiation. Free electrons in the EUV and SXR regions. Generation of high harmonics. Physics of hot and dense plasma. Extreme ultraviolet and SXR lasers. Optics in EUV and SXR spectra. Displays in the SXR and EUV spectra. SXR microscopy.
