The subject provides a comprehensive overview of light membrane structures in modern architecture. The material presented covers the entire issue and deals with all the basic topics in the given field. Teaching takes place in the form of lectures and practical exercises - workshops (physical and SW modeling)

Introduction to the issue, History of lightweight roofing structures, Design principles, Statics of membrane structures, Physical and SW modeling, Single-layer textile membranes, Pneumatic structures and ETFE foils, Lattice shells, Stainless steel meshes, Experimental and hybrid lightweight structures, Solution of technical details, Examples of implementations - stories of completed buildings

The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive overview of roofing and facade systems using the principles of light membrane constructions. Knowledge of the given issue will creatively and effectively expand the student's architectural and construction horizons after completing the course
