Synopsis:

Intermediate / follow-up course to 104XCI2. It is always held in the winter semester only. It is suitable for students who are already familiar with Chinese - they know the rules of Chinese sentence and character formation, basic Chinese phrases, and don't struggle too much with pinyin pronunciation and tones. This course can be followed up with the continuing course 104XCI4.

Further pronunciation practice with emphasis on the four tones

vocabulary development (e.g. shopping, travel)

grammar (numeratives)

emphasis on the acquisition of Chinese characters

reading simple classical Chinese myths (Monkey King, Chinese animal stories)
