Synopsis:

As part of the course, students will learn about modern measuring methods in the construction industry. In practical laboratory tasks, groups will try to work with modern measuring devices and apparatus to determine elastic and deformation properties of building materials and structures, measurement and spectral analysis of sound, noise and vibrations, measurement of optical properties of materials, transmittance and reflectance of materials, determination of photometric and spectral characteristics of light sources, measurement of thermophysical parameters of building materials

Requirements:

none

Syllabus of lectures:

Measurement of the coefficient of thermal conductivity

Measurement of modulus of elasticity

Measurement of permeability and reflectivity of materials

Measurement and spectral analysis of sound, noise and vibration

Measurement of photometric and spectral characteristics of light sources

Syllabus of tutorials:

Measurement of the coefficient of thermal conductivity

Measurement of modulus of elasticity

Measurement of permeability and reflectivity of materials

Measurement and spectral analysis of sound, noise and vibration

Measurement of photometric and spectral characteristics of light sources

Study Objective:

In practical laboratory tasks, students acquire the necessary skills for measuring selected physical and technical parameters of materials and structures (detection of elastic and deformation properties of building materials and structures, measurement and spectral analysis of sound, noise and vibrations, measurement of optical properties of materials, permeability and reflectivity of materials, color of surfaces, photometric and spectral characteristics of light sources, measurement of thermophysical parameters of building materials, modern methods of measuring the dimensions and shape of building elements and structures), which are important for determining reliability and quality - mainly in the area of assessing building structures and materials. Emphasis is placed on modern digital measurement methods and the use of electrical methods for measuring non-electric quantities, which facilitates computer processing of measured results.
