Synopsis:

Modeling of specified objects and own designs in 3D and visualization of obtained models. The tools used are the surface 3D NURBS modeler Rhinoceros and the parametric modeling module Grasshopper.

Requirements:

Mandatory active participation in classes, a maximum of 3 excused absences.

Submission of the project within the prescribed deadline and scope (see Moodle).

Syllabus of lectures:

This course does not have lectures.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Rhinoceros: Modeling principles and file types; Rhino interface, customizing of the workspace, object snaps

2. Organization of work, groups, layers, import, export.

3. Rhinoceros: Curves and their editing.

4. Rhinoceros: Surfaces.

5. Rhinoceros: Editing and deformation of surfaces. 3d printing: STL format, model errors.

6. Rhinoceros: Tools for transforming curves and surfaces.

7. Rhinoceros: Boolean operations with objects. Setting the scene; material editing, rendering quality, lighting.

8. Individual work - curves.

9. Individual work - surfaces.

10. Grasshopper: Parametric modeling - introduction.

11. Grasshopper: Parametric modeling - curves.

12. Grasshopper: Parametric modeling - surfaces.

13. Overview of alternative surface modelers and mathematical programs.

Study Objective:

The goal is to increase students' competence in 3D space visualization techniques.
