The characteristics of the basic properties of aerospace materials. Specific material requirements for applications in the aerospace industry. The optimum choice of material for aircraft structures while respecting weight, durability and safe operation.
Groups of materials used in construction of airframe and engine parts. Aluminium alloys, technically pure titanium and its alloys, magnesium alloys, superalloys based on nickel and cobalt, high-strength steel. Engineering plastics, ceramics, fiber and particle-reinforced composites.
