- Synopsis:
-
The course is oriented mainly on the study of water phenomena at the Earth. In the focus of this subject are: meteorological processes near the ground and precipitation-runoff formation.
- Requirements:
-
No prerequisities required.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
Sun radiation and balance of energy, climate system of the Earth, stability of the atmosphere, atmospheric depressions and cyclones, formation of clouds, water balance: precipitation, evaporation and runoff genesis, field measurement and data processing, streamflow routing, mathematical modelling of hydrological processes.
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
Measurement and data processing of hydrological variables, mass and double-mass analysis, estimation of streamflow extremes, hydrological forecasting.
- Study Objective:
-
The aim of the course is recognition of water phenomena at the Earth.
Evidence of past climate, observing the weather and climate change; hydrometric network: atmospheric precipitation, evaporation and streamflow, water in the soil and groundwater; data processing; hydrological analysis: rainfall-runoff relationship, flood frequency and probabilities, droughts, catchment modelling; engineering applications: flood routing, water resources control. ,
