Synopsis:

The principle of GNSS technology. Movement of GNSS satellites in a real force field. GNSS systems. Principles of observation processing. International IGS and EUREF-EPN services. Real-time observation methods.

Requirements:

Higher mathematics and basic physics

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Explain the concept of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems).

2. Geodetic basics - coordinate systems, reference ellipsoid, geoid.

3. Movement of GNSS satellites in the Earth's gravitational field.

4. Principles of GNSS function, code measurements.

5. GNSS phase measurements.

6. Specifics of some systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou).

7. Statistical methods in GNSS applications,

8. Processing of GNSS measurements, application of statistical methods.

9. Errors affecting GNSS measurements and their elimination.

10. Problem of solving integer ambiguities.

11. GNSS navigation applications.

12. GNSS precision surveying applications.

13. International cooperation in the field of GNSS. GNSS data sources.

Study Objective:

The aim of the study is to understand the movement of satellites in the Earth's gravitational field, the principle of GNSS and basic measurement technology.
