Synopsis:

The students are acquainted with principles of the scientific research methodology, accumulation of input data, formulation of hypotheses, evaluation of results. Principles of statistical methods and their use and interpretation. The subject matter presented includes Random variables, their distribution, characteristics, transformations, and the population sample, estimates of parameters, testing hypotheses. The exercises are focused on practical work with Microsoft Office Excel 2010.

Testimonial:

Mandatory presence at seminars (max. 1 missed classes). For testimonial you have to get minimum of 25 points from small tests written through the semester ( Out of maximum 50 point). Tests cannot be repeated or moved (unless significant reason is presented in printed version: Grave sickness, Your own vedding, ceremonial burrial).

Aquired points will be a part of the final classification.

Exam requirements:

Passing the testimonial. The exam has a form of solving particular exercises in the application MS Office Excel 2010 personally in the computing laboratory in published terms. Each student gets a different set of statistical data. For passing the exam its needed at least 50% success rate. If testimonial is aquired and finall test is passed, classification mark will be created from both.
