Synopsis:

Introduction to the issue of scientific work, its significance for society, the development of science in the Czech Republic, especially in the XX. century. Introduction to principles of scientific work, explanation of basic concepts, with the grant policy, by way of presentation and promotion of results. Scientific work in the European Union. Working with literary and Internet information sources, organization of work of scientific libraries and funding agencies. Mastering the presentation and processing literature searches.

Requirements:

Active participation in discussions during lectures and seminars, presentations 1 to 2 of selected topics. Participation in a minimum of 6 seminars.

Science and its structure, the nature of scientific work and its aims, the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

The development of science in Czechoslovakia in the XX. century, prominent representatives of

Grant project: basic concepts (hypothesis, laws, theories, models), build the project, the structure of research, defense research

The structure of lectures and a professional paper

Marketing in scientific work

7th Framework Programme of the European Union and aims 8th Framework Programme

Science and terrorism.

Each seminar will consist of introductory words of the lecturer, students and related discussion papers, which aims to teach students to defend their opinion. The order of lectures may change, students will be informed about changes on the website of the department.
