Synopsis:

Basic paediatrics, characteristics of diseases specific for children. Familiarization with basic examination and therapeutic approaches in paediatric therapeutic rehabilitation. Familiarization with rehabilitation procedures in selected paediatric diagnoses. Familiarization with psychomotor development in children. The rehabilitation of children can be divided into transient rehabilitation (subsequent care performed immediately next to the treatment) and permanent rehabilitation which concerns children with long-term or permanent health handicaps.

Ergotherapy in children as a component of therapeutic rehabilitation.

examination:

written test, 80 % success rate.

Caution: intervals between repeated examinations must not be shorter than seven days.Oral examination on the basis of the decision field supervisor.

Syllabus of lectures:

1st topic: Relationship of Pediatrics, rehab.lékařství and physiotherapy. Stratification of childhood.

2nd topic: Concepts of growth and evolution. Peculiarities of structure and function of children's musculoskeletal system.

3rd topic: Examination of musculoskeletal child patient. Imaging methods. Application of physiotherapy techniques in pediatric practice.

4th topic: Postural development - 1 to 4 trimenon. Postural activity, reactivity and „primitive“ reactivity.

5th topic: cerebral palsy - etiopathogenesis and pathophysiology. Early diagnosis.

6th topic: Orthopaedic treatment of cerebral palsy and subsequent physiotherapy.

7th topic: Vojta reflex locomotion method.

8th topic: Bobath concept in cerebral palsy

9th topic: I. Children's Orthopaedics and Traumatology - basic physiotherapy practice in postoperative care in-patient facilities and ambulatním.

10th topic: II. Children's Orthopaedics and Traumatology - basic physiotherapy practice in postoperative care.

11th topic: First Baby internal diseases - basic physiotherapy practice in inpatient and outpatient facilities.

12th topic: II. Children's internal diseases - basic physiotherapy practice in inpatient and outpatient facilities.

13th topic: The specifics of physiotherapy treatments in child psychiatry.

14th topic: Occupational therapy, hippotherapy and animal assisted therapy in pediatric patients. Work ethic with a child, child pain, communication with parents.

Syllabus of tutorials:

(28 hours, 6x4 hours internships, 2x2 hour seminar)

1st topic: I. Practicing communication with the child and parents. Anamnesis of children of different age groups. Psychiatric patient. (2 hours seminar)

2nd topic: II. Practicing communication with children and their parents. Anamnesis of children of different age groups. Psychiatric patient. (2 hours seminar)

3rd topic: Examination of musculoskeletal child - newborn, the first trimenon.

4th topic: Examination of musculoskeletal child - second to fourth trimenon.

5th topic: Working for the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral palsy - the first internship.

6th topic: Working for the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral palsy - a second internship.

7th topic: Department of pediatric surgery and orthopedics.

8th topic: Children's Department's internal type - the first internship.

9th topic: Children's Department internal type - Type of placement.

10th topic: Children's Psychiatric Hospital.

(Types of patients in the workplace will be subject to the possibilities of the device, but always so that in total, achieve the objectives of education program.)
