Introduction to modern software resources in MS Windows and GNU/Linux environment - office applications, basic visualisation of experimental data, graphical presentation, Internet communication. Data formats, compatibility.
Selected parts of the course are compatible with the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) knowldege sylabus .

2. Introduction to information technology - software.
3. Basic user functions of PC, File management.
4. Text processor I.- basic operations, formating
5. Text procesor II.T- tables, embedded objects.
6. Spreadsheet I.- introduction.
7. Spreadsheet II. -functions, graphs and diagrams.
8. Database I. - basic functions, realations.
9. Database II. - searching, queries, reports.
10. Presentation - output formats, graphical effects, principles of „good presentation“.
11. Network Information Sercvices I. - WWW -searching and sharing information.
12. Network Information Sercvices II. - e-mail klient
13. Solving of the half-year task (project).
14. Verification of the half-year project
- Study Objective:

Ability to use common user programs in MS Windows and GNU/Linux operation systems, introduction to blend e-learning. Output student knowledge will be sufficient to successfully pass ECDL tests (optional).
