The course is focused on design of concrete, steel and steel to concrete composite structures including differences of design.
Basic properties and static behaviour of bearing elements. Historical survey. Case studies. Technology of production and material properties of concrete, masonry, steel and timber based materials. Testing of material properties, quality control. Design criteria, detailing, execution. Design models, design procedures, reliability. Loading, terminology, global structural analysis. Design load, basic design cases. Design of elements exposed to tension, compression. Design of elements exposed to bending and shear, interaction normal force and bending moment. Ultimate state design, bases, simplified procedures. Design calculations and drawings. Today structures, new materials, recycling, sustainable constructions.
