- Synopsis:
-
The subject is focused on a traffic flow at rural and urban roads. There are explained traffic flow parameters in detail, and their one-to one relationship among them and ways of their evaluation data pretreatment, filtration, transformation and methods of reduction. Methods of measurement in a point and along a road. Traffic flow capacity. Explanation in detail of different influences on traffic flow capacity.
Next part is focused on macroscopic traffic models, discontinuities in traffic flow shock waves and acceleration noise in traffic flow. As a basement for the discrete modeling of traffic flow there are explained statistical models for the description of traffic flow parameters continuous (speed) and discrete (traffic volume) and their distributions. In detail there are introduced microscopic models as deterministic models basic theory and possibilities of their usage for traffic simulation including of examples of their applications. The last part is dedicated to introduction to modern theory of physics of traffic flow and queuing theory.
