Synopsis:

Strabismus - binocular viewing conditions: definitions, motor and sensory aspects. Examination, classification of strabismus. Heterophoria, heterotrophia. Nonparetic and paretic strabismus, accomodative strabismus. Amblyopia, Principles of therapy of strabismus - timing, medical treatment, surgical treatment.

Requirements:

Assessment: active participation on the solution of excercises.

Examination: fulfillment of requirements for assessment, knowledges covering the extent of the course.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Strabismus - binocular viewing conditions: definitions, motor and sensory aspects.

2.Classification of strabismus.

3.Heterophoria, heterotrophia.

4.Simple binocular vision, superposition, vision, stereopsis

5.Nonparetic and paretic strabismus, accomodative strabismus.

6.Amblyopia,

7.Excentric fixation, anomalous retina correspondence

8.Examination of strabismus

9.Types of strabismus - concomitant and paralytic strabismus

10.Principles of therapy of strabismus - timing, medical treatment,

11.Surgical treatment of strabismus.
