Building physics and structural problems of the principles of reconstruction of flat, sloping and steep roofs. Design of remediation of roof coverings in terms of requirements: building physical, waterproofing, operational, static, fire, acoustic, biological, chemical, lifetime and recycling.

Requirements:

SF 1

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Roof sheathing. Functions, terminology, general solution principles, requirements, shape solution, material solution, standards and regulations.

2. Flat roof construction. Defects and failures of roof coverings, service life, interaction of materials, analysis of failures. Diagnostics of defects and malfunctions of flat casings.

3. Single-skin roof structures, double-skin and operating roofs. Analysis of defects and malfunctions Principles of rehabilitation design, structural physical analysis - material and structural compositional variants - structural details

4. Principles of design, structural physical analysis and material and structural composition variants of proposals for renovating roof coverings in extreme marginal conditions. Thermal technical analysis. Principles of structural solutions - material variants. Construction details.

5. Slanted and steep roof structures. Defects and failures of roof coverings, service life, interaction of materials, analysis of failures. Diagnostics of defects and malfunctions of flat casings.

6. Sloped and steep roofs. Analysis of defects and malfunctions Principles of rehabilitation design, building physical analysis - material and structural compositional variants - structural details, practical demonstrations and examples of roof rehabilitation.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Design of roof sheathing

Analysis of defects and malfunctions on the selected roof covering. Design and evaluation of the optimal variant of remedial measures for the given roof covering - thermal technical assessment, drainage design, assessment for wind and snow loads. Study 1:500 to 1:200 (1x A3). Floor plan (roof / truss) and roof section 1:50 or 1:100 (1x A3). Processing of 4 specified details 1:5 - 1:10 (5 x a3), technical report.

Warp:

1. Assignment - flat, sloping roof

2. Analysis of defects and malfunctions

3. Design and assessment of the composition of the roof covering 1st variant

4. Design and assessment of the composition of the roof covering, 2nd variant

5. Floor plan + section, drainage

6. Details

7.Details, technical report

Study Objective:

The student will become familiar with the diagnostics and principles of failure analysis of flat roofs, balconies, terraces and pitched and steep roofs and with the principles of designing their rehabilitation.
