Synopsis:

The purpose of architectural work ,first of all,is to provide indoor environment of the building for the user-the man. Sometimes this endeavor is not successful-e.g.so called Sick Building Syndrome (SBS)occurs being able to depreciate even the perfect work of art.Objections of medical doctors specialized in hygiene can be added and the usefullness of the building can be problematic.First main architectural building types are presented,then Government Directives of the Czech Republic and international standards dealing with indoor microclimate problems.Special part is devoted to practice:students try to assess indoor climate of a certain architectural type,e.g.of low energetic residental building,medieval church,wooden building,modern air conditioned building.

Syllabus of lectures:

Microclimate analysis of Tugendhat villa in Brno based on real measurement of microclimate parameters.Microclimate of some progressive architectural. SuperHomes London(movie BBC).

Syllabus of tutorials:

a)Select building of a certain architectural type:residental low energetic,medieval church,residental wooden,airconditioned office building with separated offices and

open space

b)Basic photo documentation to be made

c)Try to feel like a building user(real user´s opinion welcomed)

d)Conclusion:To which extend is the building suitable for its purpose.

Study Objective:

Deep theoretical knowledge with ability of application in practice.
