Basics of experimental measurement and instrumentation of tested elements and structures. Theory of experiment, measurement and processing of results. Design and principles of different types of sensors, strain gauge applications, testing machines and equipment. Load testing of structures, elements and components. Differential thermal analysis.

Submission of the work within the prescribed time and scope.
Compulsory attendance in class, maximum 3 excused absences.
Continuous correction of work and checking during the course.

Failures of building materials, mechanical, thermal, chemical and other influences of building material failures.
Diagnostics of their occurrence.
Testing machines and equipment.
Deformation measuring instruments.
Destructive tests of mechanical properties.
Non-destructive test methods.
Chemical analysis (sampling, purpose, requirements).
Test methodology for selected construction materials (concrete, mortar, metallic elements, wood, glass, plastics, composites and others).
