Introduction into the theories of sensitivity theory and system tolerances

Concept of the system and its functions. System parameters

Concept of independent variables. Time as an independent variable.

Sensitivity of system functions related to system parameters changes.

Absolute and relative sensitivities. Bodes sensitivity definition. Semi-relative sensitivity.

High-order sensitivities.

Connected sensitivities.

Sensitivity optimization. Theorem on Sensitivity Invariance and its meaning.

Sensitivity to large changes of system parameters. Sensitivities and parameters tolerances.

Statistical approach to the tolerances of systems.

Area of acceptability. Area of tolerable deviations. Production yield.

Dependence between tolerances and price. Yield optimization and product price. Design centering.

Lifetime, reliability. Life-curve. Repairs and correction of the system.

Safety of systems and failure tolerant systems.
