Fundamentals of geometric, physical and quantum optics. Relativistic optics. Fundamentals of physical electronics. Lasers, laser beams and thein applications. Modern part of optics and thein applications in science and engineering (adaptive optics, gradient index optics, nonlinear optics, acoustooptics, electrooptics, etc.). Sources and detectors of optical radiation. Physical principles of modern optical elements and instruments with applications in science and engineering.

8. Fundamentals of Wave Optics II
9. Properties of optical instruments
10. Modern optoelectronic elements. Production and application of optical and optoelectronic elements. Micro-optics and nano-optics.
11. Fundamentals of adaptive optics.
12. Fundamentals of gradient optics. Fluid-based optical elements.
13. Acousto-optics, electro-optics, magneto-optics and non-linear optics.

The aim is to introduce the basic principles of optics and optoelectronics and the applications of optical and optoelectronic elements and systems in scientific and technical practice. The course is very suitable as a basis for the study of the PhD course Non-contact Methods in Experimental Mechanics.
