Synopsis:

Road design. Evaluation of road route alternatives. Application of multicriteria analysis. Negative impacts of automobile traffic and ways to reduce them. Route modelling and its aesthetic effect. Road software, BIM in the field of roads. Road safety, traffic calming.

Requirements:

The form of lectures, dates and scope of examination requirements are specified by the lecturer.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Road design - principles, specifics of design in extravilan / intravilan.

2. Evaluation of road route alternatives - possibilities.

3. Application of multicriteria analysis. Selection of criteria and determination of their weight.

4. Negative impacts of car traffic and possibilities of their reduction.

5. Accidents, noise, vibration, air pollution, land occupation.

6. Route modelling, spatial and aesthetic effect of the route and its verification.

7. Special road software, its use.

8. + 9. Basic principles of BIM in the field of roads.

10 + 11 Road safety.

12. + 13. Principles of traffic calming - application, possibilities of application, optimization, negative effects of some elements on the environment.

Study Objective:

The student will deepen his/her knowledge in the field of road design with specifics of extravilan / intravilan, get additional information about the possibilities of modelling road routes using modern design software. Furthermore, the student will become more familiar with the issue of road safety and the possibilities of ensuring it.
